Leadership Programs
In 2002,
Gary Hampson designed and facilitated four highly successful leadership
programs for the Department of Comunications, IT and the Arts (DCITA)
based around the SES Leadership Capability Framework. The experience gained
in these programs is now available for other clients to design and deliver
effective, low-cost programs for Executive and Senior Executive levels.
In addition
to designing integrated Leadership Programs, Gary and the Brindabella
Consulting team are available to deliver specific components of your leadership
program that have been tried and tested in the DCITA programs. These components
achieved high satisfaction ratings and impact on the participants. They
include:
APS
SES Leadership Capability Framework
As part of the team that developed the Capability Framework, Gary is able
to provide participants with a unique view of the SES Leadership Capabilities
and their application in leadership development and SES selection in the
Australian Public Service. Gary assists participants to use the framework
to personalise the behaviours to their own workplace.
Networking
and Initiating Contact
Networking and visibility management are essential components of contemporary
skills of executives and leaders. This session intorduces participants
to new concepts and seeks to overcome their reluctance to initiate contact
with stakeholders.
Self-Knowledge
for Leaders
Based around SHLs Occupational Personality Questionnaire currently used
in the APSC programs, our organisational psychologists take participants
through a strucutred approach to understanding their preferences and how
this impacts on their leadership style.
Communicating
with Influence
Focusing on face to face oral communication, this session introduces participants
to advanced concepts in the use of language and develops the ability to
recognise aggressive language in other and deal with it.
Contemporary
Leadership Models
Building on the research that was the foundation for the SES Leadership
Framework, participants are taken through a range of contemporary views
of 'what makes a good leader'. Practical, individual changes to leadership
behaviours are identified and further reading is encouraged on an on-going
basis.
APS
Values
The place of APS values in leadership is examined and discussed in this
session. Participants are able to develop practical behaviours that they
must demonstrate to be consistent with the APS values as well as practical
ways to encourage compliance with the values within their own team.
